On Feb. 7, the provincial People's Committee office said that on Tet holiday 2014 despite difficulties in 2013, the provincial administration maintained amount of Tet expenditures like 2013's Tet holiday.

Besides, the provincial authority steered to increase 20% of Tet expenditures for heroic mothers, war invalids and martyrs' relatives and sanitation workers. On the 2014 Tet holiday, the local administration spent VND278.365bil to take care of poor, privileged people. Of this, VND3.544bil was from central budget and VND187.258bil from local budget and VND87.563bil from mobilized sources. Additionally, the provincial administration launched and completed gift visits to poor people and children, earmarked VND50,471bil to assist needy workers and spent over VND3.4bil to grant 6,900 gifts to underprivileged migrant workers. In addition, businesses in cooperation with trade unions offered free trips home for laborers and held Lunar New Year festivals with the total value of over VND47bil.
