The charity class of Tan An quarter in Di An town’s Tan Dong Hiep ward is located in an area with many lodging facilities for immigrant laborers
Since its inception of 2010, the charity class has absorbed 42 pupils from 1st to 5th grade. Most of them have a difficult circumstance, but they over time achieved good academic results. For example, Phan Thanh Giau won the title of “good pupil” for three consecutive years.

Giau is a boy with fatherless. Her mother always faces illness, so she can only do light jobs to earn money to take care for her son. In 2009, Giau began his learning at the charity class of Binh An ward. He was a good pupil and was loved by friends and teachers at the charity class. Till 2010, he moved to other charity class in Tan Dong Hiep ward’s Tan An quarter to further pursue his learning. For three academic years herein, he was recognized as a good pupil.
Nguyen Ngoc Huy, chief of Tan An quarter’s charity class said: “Giau has a very difficult circumstance. Hence, we always created favorable conditions for him to regularly go to the class over the past time…”.
With his efforts in study, Giau represented 42 pupils of the charity class to attend Di An town’s Congress of Obedient Children of Uncle Ho. It is expected that he will also continue attending the upcoming provincial Congress of Obident Children of Uncle Ho. It is hoped that with his efforts plus the attention of his teachers, friends and relatives, Giau will get higher achievements in study to become an obedient child and a good pupil.
