There are still pupils with difficult circumstances and their way to school also faces a lot of obstacles. But, they have still tried their best to rise up and gained good academic results. Here are three typical examples about this.
Dreaming of being an accountant
Although being a 8th grader of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai secondary school in TDM city, Dai Phu Thanh looks very small. He moved to tear when saying about his family circumstance. He said that his parents divorced when being a child. His mother got married again and since then he has lived with his grandmother.

Dai Phu Thanh
Every day, his grandmother earns money to take care of him by shelling cashew nuts. The income from this job is very low, so he has a destitute life. Besides, his health is also poor because of asthma. He always feels very sad, due to the lack of love from his parents.
Not nursing a complex about his situation, Thanh has determined to well study, helping him seek a stable job in the future to take care of his grandmother and himself. In the past academic years, he was always a good pupil. He likes mathematics best and his average score for this subject is between 8 and 9. He said that he would make more efforts in study so that he could make his dream of becoming an account.
Becoming to be a teacher…
Dang Thai Anh, a 6th grader of Phu Cuong secondary school in TDM city also has a very difficult circumstance. She has lived with her grandparents when being a child. Her grandfather works as a bricklayer while her grandfather’s daily job is to wash dishes for restaurants. Hence, she always faces difficulties.
Like Thanh, Anh’s awareness of learning is very high. She always got the title of a good pupil in the past academic years. Thanks to her diligence, she is always loved by friends and teachers at school. Although being small, her thought shows maturity. Her dream is to become a teacher in the future. This is because she wants all children will enjoy the integral love of their patents and their second mild mother is teacher.
…being a guide at historical museum
Vuong My Nga is luckier than Thanh and Anh because she lives together with her parents. But, her circumstance is also very difficult. His father is a driver while his mother gets involved in making piggybanks.
After school, Nga frequently follows her mother to make piggybanks. The small worker has also become too familiar with those making piggybanks in Thuan Giao ward’s Binh Thuan quarter.
Despites hardship, Nga has always tried to get good results in study. Like other pupils, Nga also has her own dream. Her dream is to become a guide at historical museum, helping children know more about the history of the nation. To make her dream come true, Nga will make more efforts in all subjects, especially history.
It is known that TDM City’s Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor (C.E.P) has just awarded 71 scholarships worth between VND700,000 and VND2mln each to poor-but-excellent pupils. Since the 2009 and 2010 academic year, the C.E.P has given scholarships for poor pupils with good academic results, helping them cover tuition fees and other fees for their learning.
