Many overseas Vietnamese, namely Ong Thi Lan, Trinh Chau Pha, Co Kim Hoa…said that they felt very warm when enjoying Tet at Binh Duong homeland. Estimately, southern Binh Duong province welcomed more than 2,000 overseas Vietnamese who returned to Vietnam for Tet this year.
Ong Thi Lan, a Vietnamese Canadian, said she was very proud of the evolution of Binh Duong while vowing to make contributions to Binh Duong in particular and Vietnam in general for better prosperity.

Trinh Chau Pha, a Vietnamese American also expressed her pride of Binh Duong homeland. She said that the overseas Vietnamese community have always been proud of Vietnam, especially its renewal policies over the past time. As a staff in the US education sector for many years, she wanted that Vietnam will creat better conditions in field of education for young people. According to her, the intelligence of Vietnamese people is very great.
Professor Co Kim Hoa, a Vietnamese German felt that Vietnamese people have always upheld their intelligence anywhere in the world and in any fields. He also hoped that Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular will have more open policies in terms of education…
Speaking at a Tet get-together for overseas Vietnamese, provincial vice-chairman Nguyen Van Hiep said that Binh Duong has so far absorbed 8,348 domestic projects capitalized at more than VND54,500bln and 1,850 FDI ones with nearly US$13bln. The whole province now has 1,231 businesses exporting their products to 86 countries and territories and their export earnings are very positive…The province’s achievements done over the past time came from the efforts of the Party, Government and people and contributions of the community of overseas Vietnamese.
Mr. Hiep also called the overseas community to maintain exchanges and relations in country and province. Specially, they should educate their descendants born abroad to look toward to the homeland, preserve the traditional cultural identities and contribute to the homeland’s development.
