Overseas Vietnamese enjoy Tet in homeland

Pham Van Canh, chairman of the provincial People’s Council meets with overseas Vietnamese.

There’s no place like home to enjoy Tet holiday. It is the common feeling of all of Vietnamese expats at the year-end meeting for overseas Vietnamese held the provincial party committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee on Feb. 13.

Attending the meeting were Pham Van Canh, chairman of the provincial People’s Council, Tran Thanh Liem, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Huynh Van Nhi, chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and nearly 200 overseas Vietnamese.

In the warm and close ambience, Tran Thanh Liem said that in the past year local socio-economic situation continued to reach encouraging changes, local political system was perfected, economy maintained a fair growth and social welfare was ensured.

These achievements were thanks to efforts of local administration, people and economic sectors, especially overseas Vietnamese through activities of dissemination, advertisement of homeland image and people. In addition Vietnamese expats created effective bridges of spurring cooperation and friendship relations between local administration and international community. This shows that Vietnamese expats always attach to homeland and is an inseparable part and a precious source for Binh Duong.

Tran Thanh Liem shared “It is essential to have efforts and contributions from Vietnamese expats to help Binh Duong become an industrial province in the rapid, strong, sustainable and environmentally friendly development”. In addition, Liem also hoped that overseas Vietnamese would keep national cultural identities, help together for a developed homeland.

Nguyen Clement, director of Nhan Hoa import-export Co.Ltd., a Vietnamese French shared “In 1993, I chose Binh Duong for my business and there’s no place like home to enjoy Tet holiday. Therefore, I often enjoy Tet in homeland. Binh Duong lures me with investment policies and assistance of local leaders”.

Dang Sanh, in Binh Nham ward, Thuan An town said “Over the past 20 years, I have often enjoyed Tet in my homeland. Though there are many Vietnamese traditional dishes in the US, there’s no place like to enjoy Tet”.

At the meeting, Pham Van Canh revealed “In the last year, with efforts, the local party committee, authorities and people and business community reached encouraging results on areas of culture, politics, economy and social welfare. Along with local people, overseas Vietnamese have contributed greatly to the country. Local party committee, authorities and people highly appreciate their patriotism and contribution to the country in general and Binh Duong in particular”.

Pham Van Canh stressed “the Party and State always respect Overseas Vietnamese community and consider them as an inseparable part of Vietnamese nation. Binh Duong alone always expects overseas Vietnamese to further contribute to homeland. Local administration will facilitate overseas Vietnamese’s investment in Binh Duong”.
