Meeting labor market
In 2010, website www.binhduongworks.com; www.vieclambinhduong.vn were debuted with the functions of offering information on labor market, recruitment demand, connecting recruiters and job-seekers and many more. Accordingly, recruiters and job-seekers can set out online job transactions through these websites. On average, the number of visitors of these websites reaches more than 100,000 people per month and the number of recruitment information is over 50 bulletins with recruitment demand of 700 laborers.
The information system of labor market is considered as a panorama on Binh Duong-based labor market. Accordingly, laborers can grasp the number of recruiters and demand on trades and help them orientate career in line with the society’s developing trend. This is also a useful information channel to help policy-makers reach an overall vision on labor market to set out strategies on vocational training.
Nguyen Kim Son, head of the Labor Market Information Department, said “In the process of launching models, we met some difficulties related to businesses’ limited policies of wage, allowance, accommodation or laborers’ shortcomings on working skill and style”.
“In reality, when joining in online job transaction, hardly laborers registered clearly recruitment position as well as set out feedbacks on placement. This caused obstacles for system managers to category information on recruitment demand”, Son added.
Picture on labor supply and demand
Statistically, in the first quarter of 2013, Labor Information Department received 324 businesses’ recruitment demand with 12,810 jobs.
Through these websites and emails, the department received 24,050 recruitment positions of 824 businesses. Son explained some concrete figures badly impacted by the global and domestic economic crisis.
He added that in the first months of this year, the provincial labor market is stabilized relatively but some businesses have yet to set out recruitment plans for the year end. However, compared with 2012, demand on recruitment decreased but workforce at companies still stabilized after Tet holiday.
Meanwhile, the provincial Job Center opened 5 job transaction market-days luring 4,200 job-seekers, 3,718 people enjoyed direct interviews. About 50% of laborers have university degrees. At present, labor demand on hi-tech qualification in Binh Duong has not been met adequately. Expectedly, the provincial labor market till the end of this year needs about 19,000 laborers for fields of mechanics, electronics, apparel, footwear and so on.
