By the care of the province and the whole society, the provincial education career eyed significant development steps. School facilities in the province have been increasingly province modernized and the teaching staffs reach and outreach the teacher standards year on year, satisfying the demands for education reforms to enable sustainable education quality.
For the teachers
Quality of the teacher decide education quality. Good teachers train up good students.
To reach such aims, the teachers need to learn and develop their professional expertise.
Mr. Duong The Phuong, the Director of Department of Education and Training (DOET) asserted that the teaching and managing staffs are the major personnel, holding the role of the most importance.
Therefore, improving the quality of teachers and the managing staffs are one of the first line mission of the education sector. In stage of industrialization and modernization, the training and maintaining the teaching and managing staffs of professional competence and dedicated expertise shall satisfy the mission requirements.
In such sense, in 2011, the education sector has performed the project of "building up teaching and managing staffs in province stage from 2011 to 2015"
From 2011 to today, the training has regularly conducted by the Education-Training sector throughout the school year. DOET has coordinated with Thu Dau Mot University, Eastern International University, and other education institutions to train and maintain the quality of manpower for the sector.
Every year, the sector dispatch hundreds of officers, teachers, and employees to long-term training classes of education management, education profession, politics, foreign languages, and computer science.
Mrs. Vo Thi Thu Thao, Deputy Head of Phu Giao District Office of Education and Training informed of gap closing between urban and rural areas as Phu Giao has paid great attention to educating and training manpower satisfy the demands of supplementing and improving quality of the staffs.
Every year, the Office select and dispatch officials and teachers to sandwich courses; the managers have actively participated into sandwich courses during summertime or in projects of profession exchanges amongst education institutions; the teachers positively follow self-studying plans with colleagues and sandwich course planning... with consistent teaching methods suitable for localities.
Up to date, the teaching and managing staffs have been increasingly standardized with knowledgeable foundation to create momentum for the development in the next years.
The emphasis of such tasks of improving the quality of the teacher training is the language competence of English teachers in order to perform the project of "improving the quality of teaching and learning English in high schools, from 2012 to 2017 in province".
Annually, the department coordinated with Eastern International University to open courses to standardize knowledge and skills of English use for teachers at primary and junior high schools.
In the school year of 2013-2014, DOET has dispatched 196 English teachers at continuing education centers and professional schools to English courses of European standards.
For training of long-term and short-term staffs for the sector, DOET frequently holds professional sandwich courses for teachers.
It can be elaborated that DOET always cares for facilitating profession improvement for teachers from preschools to senior high. According to Mr. Duong The Phuong's evaluation, aside from such care of schools, the boards of trustees have call upon teachers to design flexible and feasible lessons; teachers are to positively their exchange of learning and teaching experiences while enhancing their profession through test teaching, classroom observation, and group meetings.
The teachers are to organize their teaching in accordance with student competence regarding their knowledge and skills; teaching to resolve problems should be made use of; knowledge instruction, skill training and behavior and attitude orientation should be balanced for the students; group and individual work should be well combined; practicing and reality references should be intensified.
Currently, most teachers can create electronic lesson plans thanks to information technology application.
Teachers learn and innovate on their own
Teaching is a creative profession, the teacher is devoted and dedicated to their profession with non-stop positive learning for advancement in qualifications and exploration of new teaching methods.
Responding to the campaign of "learning and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh." the teachers conduct specific work through the campaign of "every teacher is a model of morality, self-learning, and creativity". From the forms of learning and following the moral examples of President Ho Chi Minh, each teacher review themselves to follow self-training of ethics and training.
Teaching ethics include pedagogic treatment, courtesy of exemplary communication, and dedication to the teaching profession. Learning is for life, and event the teachers must learn. Upholding such consciousness and responsibility for the younger generations, the provincial teaching staffs have made non-stop self-training and learning to master the scientific knowledge and technology, and pedagogic arts.
Mr. Ta Tan Tuan, Deputy Chief of Dau Tieng Education and Training said that the sector keep encouraging teaching and managing staffs to conduct self-learning and training to meet the demands for standard teaching and managing staffs.
The teaching staffs are to learn to improve their qualifications through teaching method reforms consistent with the current requirement for innovation.
As a profession of creativity, the teacher must always be looking for the new ways to develop creativity of their students. The provincial teaching staffs have creatively made use of knowledge and new technology to their teaching and scientific researches.
The movement creating and applying scientific researches is one of the forms of creativity. In recent years, DOET has encouraged teachers to boost the scientific researches, scientific pedagogic applications, designed to improve efficiency of education activities.
