Resilience education of Binh Duong Province

Part 3: The highlights of education in Binh Duong Province

One of the education and training development strategies proposed by Department of Education and Training (DOET) is creation of high quality resources of senior high schools. In over 3 years of the project, education quality has been improved tremendously, many students have won provincial and regional awards to become the resource for the next education layer.

Righteous decisions

From the beginning of 2008, DOET has chose Chu Van An Junior High School in Thu Dau Mot City as the place for sourcing classes. Every year, the school enroll 90 students to 3 classes from hundreds of students registering; thus, only the best students have been chosen.

According to the school board, as the project begun, the province and the city have financed the school to build up facilities along with profession guidance of local office of education and training for the sourcing classes.

The teaching staffs include the best and experienced teachers who have been on frequent training and sandwich courses sponsored by MOET and DOET.

For the special classes of human resourcing, students have been taught in accordance with 8 to 10 special topics for each subject through a school year.

Mr. Duong The Phuong, DOET Director said that, in accordance with plans, from 2011 to 2015, the province has 5 junior high schools specialized in human resourcing. The first chosen was Chu Van An Junior High School.

The chosen schools have been invested with modern facilities including smart interactive board. Students have been even on in-campus learning.

The objective was to improve education quality of senior high schools. Thus, the discovery and training of talented students hold the highest role in improving education quality.

Aside from sourcing schools, from 2011, DOET planned for high quality high schools which would enroll only the best students from junior high. On such basis, Trinh Hoai Duc High School was chosen as a model school for the project.

As asserted by Mr. Duong The Phuong – the DOET Director, the targets are to develop high quality schools with modern equipment and standardized teachers who have mastered the advanced teaching methodologies to create outstanding students for higher quality.

Effectiveness improved

To gain expected quality, the sector has invested to all aspects while the staffs have been qualified in terms of ethics and qualifications. As for teaching curriculum, the schools follow MOET programs with added topics. The high quality schools choose to teach in accordance with subject groups oriented to entrance examinations to universities and colleges.
