The night has fallen, but at the headquarter of People's Committee of Lai Thieu (Thuan An City), civil servants were still busy cooking, wrapping vegetables and instant noodles, face masks to supply for isolation and blockade areas. The urgent manner and high concentration of of Party cadres of Lai Thieu ward reminded us of Uncle Ho's words: "Each party member and cadre must be truly imbued with revolutionary morality, thrift, integrity, justice, and impartiality. We must keep our Party pure and be worthy of being a leader and a faithful servant of the people." Indeed, in these days, images of grassroots public servants striving for the fight against the Covid-19 has brought strong emotions to all people. They are doing everything they can, together with forces on duty at isolation or blockaded areas, to control the outbreak and take care of the people.
In an urgent voice, Pham Phu Nam, Secretary of Lai Thieu ward Party Committee, said that the ward had mobilized the whole political system to participate in propagation, mobilization and reminding people in neighborhoods, lodging houses, especially in the area of Lai Thieu market, to strictly implement social distancing according to Directive No. 16 and strictly handle violations. The ward established groups such as: contact tracing teams, logistics teams, inspection and handling teams... In general, these teams are always ready and respond quickly. “Particularly, logistics teams alone have mobilized resources of essential items, such as vegetables and fruits, rice, sugar, fish sauce and other necessary items worth over 1 billion VND, to timely support people in blockaded areas. People in blockaded and quarantined areas receive gifts and goods and are very touched and grateful for the hearts of benefactors," said Nam.
Drastic actions of the grassroots government is what we clearly see in the past few days. In Di An ward of Di An city, most key officials from the ward's administration have to take turns to be 24/7 on duty. Vo Tuong Van, Party Deputy Secretary, Chairman of People's Committee of Di An ward, said: "In recent days, the whole ward has put all efforts but still cannot do all the works, because the number of F0 cases related to Di An market's cluster is increasing. Although it is difficult and very tiring, the entire force of the ward determine to take F0 cases out of the community; encourage and remind people not to be negligent and subjective, and raise a sense of community responsibility.
Be dedicated to the people
Heads of Party Committees at grassroots level have maximized their role in epidemic prevention and control. Namely, in Tan Dong Hiep ward of Di An city, Vo Van Giau, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of People's Committee, constantly gave directions through a Zalo group of the ward, signed documents on anti-epidemic work. He also use of his own vehicle to transport many necessary items to locations of rapid test and isolation areas to promptly support teams on duty.
He said, in the past few days, the number of F0 cases in the ward had increased. Every time there is a new case, Standing Party, Covid-19 Steering Committee of the ward directs and deploy their forces to quickly localize, stamp out, and trace F1, F2 cases to isolate them quickly; assign tasks to each member of the Standing Party Committee and leaders of People's Committee to promptly inspect, urge and direct the handling of violations and arising situations. In addition, the whole ward has activated all teams serving the Covid-19 prevention control in the area, including 272 community Covid-19 safety groups of the ward working with the highest determination to control and repel the epidemic.
The ward specify that the leadership, direction and performance of tasks to prevent and control the Covid-19 outbreak during social distancing time according to Directive 16 is the most important task, contributing to the successful implementation of the dual goal in the province. Therefore, party cadres in the grassroots political system have worked wholeheartedly and really been public servants of the people. With dedication to the people, the active participation of the whole political system, hopefully, the outbreak would soon be suppressed and come back the normalcy.
