Nguyen Van Tuan, from the Mekong Delta of An Giang province, a worker for General Laundry Co.Ltd. in Thuan An city said as a rural laborer coming to Binh Duong to work, he has many limitations to learn about the law. However, during his time at the company, he has always participated in the legal propaganda sessions held annually by the company’s trade union local. Therefore, he has got more necessary knowledge about the labor law, social insurance, drug prevention and control...“Participating in propaganda sessions about the dangers of drugs at the lodging facility has helped me understand more about the harmful effects of drugs. They do not harm mental and physical health but is the reason leading to all kinds of crimes. Since then, I have raised awareness about the harmful effects of drugs to prevent and work together to fight against and eliminate drugs from social life", said Tuan.

The Binh Duong Trade Union Legal Counseling Center under provincial Labor Union organizes law dissemination for employees at lodging facilities
Nguyen Minh Tien, Chairman of Thong Dung Shoes Co., Ltd.’s Trade Union said that the majority of laborers working at the company are relatively young. Many have just come out of the countryside and from vocational schools with life experience that is not much, so they are easy to be seduced and dragged into social evils. Therefore, dissemination of information about the law in general and the Law on Drug Prevention and Control in particular has received great attention from the company’s directorate. Through law dissemination by many forms, the company has promptly provided information about the situation of drugs, how to identify drugs, their harmful effects, unpredictable effects on human health to help employees being proactive in prevention.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Dinh Trong, Chairman of Long Yi Industrial Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s Trade Union in Ben Cat town-based My Phuoc 2 Industrial Park said that in parallel with the care and protection of workers ‘legitimate rights and interests, the company's Trade Union has also focused on promoting law propaganda, including drug prevention and control, etc. With propaganda forms, the company has gradually improved knowledge about drugs among workers so that they can be proactive in drug prevention in order not to fall into this evil. Especially, the company's Trade Union also actively coordinated with the company’s directorate to organize cultural-sports activities, aiming at creating healthy playgrounds for workers to avoid evils and orient aesthetic tastes among them.
Propaganda promoted
In order to improve workers’ understanding of the law, including the Law on Drug Prevention and Control, thereby helping them proactively protect themselves, provincial Trade Union has paid special importance to law dissemination. Bui Cong Hoan, Director of the Binh Duong Trade Union Legal Advisory Center under provincial Labor Union said that over the past time, the center gave legal support for tens of thousands of trade unionists and employees. In the first 6 months of 2022, the center offered legal support to nearly 2,500 employees. The center also actively cooperated with local authorities to organize sessions on law dissemination for workers at lodging facilities...
It is known that provincial Labor Union has also directed trade unions at all levels to develop annual plans on propaganda and education of the law in general and drug prevention and control in particular among employees. Trade Unions at all levels of the province have deployed propaganda contents and mobilized employees to avoid social evils, "Say no to drugs"...The methods of law dissemination have been innovated flexibly with time and location suitable to the features of each unit and enterprise in order not to affect enterprises’ production progress, employees ‘lives-incomes and bring about necessary efficiency. Especially, propaganda is strongly directed at young workers because most of them do not understand, have limited legal knowledge, and are easily dragged into social evils, especially drugs.
In order to continue effectively carrying out propaganda on the law in general and the Law on Drug Prevention and Control in particular among trade unionists and employees in the coming time, thereby raising their awareness, building up a healthy and safe working environment, Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that provincial Labor Union will continue implementing the Project 31 on "Propaganda and dissemination of the law to employees and employers in various types of enterprises in Binh Duong province”; regularly strengthen and perfect a contingent of reporters and propagandists; build a contingent of reporters with solid political stance, qualifications, understanding of the law, dedication to the work; basically overcome the shortage or delay of information. The unit will also strengthen coordination with departments and agencies to propagandize and implement the law to employees, including the Law on Drug Prevention and Control.
