Tet Holiday is the occasion for family reunion after a year of working and devotion. Working people in Binh Duong Province have been supported and taken care of by local authorities so that they could enjoy a warm Tet Holiday of reunion. The event ‘Tet of Reunion 2018’ is promising to bring about a meaningful and impressive Tet Holiday for local working people.
Sentimental trips
For years, the program of ‘sentimental trips’ of Provincial Labor Union has enabled Tet reunion of thousands of members who have been in difficulties. The program has been backed and taken care of from all level unions and employees who have offered working people free fares to get home for Tet. Upholding the sharing spirit, the provincial union has organized this year’s trips to encourage working people to overcome their hardship and to continue working and assisting development of Binh Duong Province.
Nguyen Thien Phuoc, Deputy Chairman of Provincial Labor Union informed: “So as to implement social welfare and live-hoods of members and working people during Tet Holiday 2018, we shall offer vehicles for those who are in difficulties to get home and reunion with their families in safe and cost-saving manners. Besides, we have called upon enterprises to take care of material and spiritual lives of members and working people during Tet Holiday. Thus, our grassroots have proposed to employers to list those members in needs.”
Vehicles to take working people home for Tet
Accordingly, Provincial Labor Union shall offer 3,800 free fares to members of difficulties and 9,100 gifts to workers in poverty. However, to earn their free fares home, they must be entitled excellent members who have more than 3 years working for the enterprises; or they are affected by natural disasters or lost labor healthiness by 31% and more or inflicted by life-threatening diseases and illness to themselves or their children under long-term treatments; or they must have initiatives and technical improvements with titles in emulation movements. Workers of family difficulties and not having returned home for Tet in 3 years and more are prioritized for the free fares. The grassroots unions also offer discounts to relatives accompanying them home depending on conditions of the enterprises.
Various meaningful activities
In order to promote the role and function of the trade union organization in coordination with the administration, the employer shall take care of the material and spiritual life of union members, workers, employees and laborers. On the occasion of Tet Holiday 2018, the unions at all levels are completing the plan of celebrating the CPV and springtime with many meaningful and practical activities, ensuring safety before, during and after the Lunar New Year.
Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of Trade Union of Shyang Hung Cheng Co., Ltd. said: "Currently, the Executive Committee of the company's union is planning to review the wages of workers, adjusting the regional minimum wage according to regulations and constructing planned holidays, salary increase, bonus, and annual leave for Tet Holiday. At the same time, we take the initiative in coordinating with the functional branches to promptly solve the problems of trade unionists and workers with the lowest number of collective labor disputes and strike at the end of the year. "
Information from Phu Xuan Co., Ltd in Thu Dau Mot City disclosed that the company's Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee of the union have offered workers away from home early Tet celebration. Those workers getting home sooner, the company will offer them opportunities to receive full salary and Tet bonuses ahead of time. For the staying workers, the company will organize visits and trips at the neighboring playgrounds of Thanh Le Park, Dai Nam Theme Park, and Suoi Tien.
Together with the activities of the grassroots trade unions, labor unions of districts, towns and Thu Dau Mot City are actively coordinating with authorities to visit and give gifts to families with relatives of labor accidents, serious illnesses or union members, laborers in extremely difficult circumstances, unable to return home for Tet.
Le Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of Labor Union of Tan Uyen Town said: "The labor union of the town has planned to mobilize the government, employers, and sponsors to organize car trips, welcoming trade unionists, laborers returning home and getting back to work after the Lunar New Year. It is expected that the labor union of the town will donate 800 gifts to laborers in difficult circumstances, offering them free fares to go home for Tet, organizing visits to workers and celebration of CPV and springtime.”
