Pension and allowances simultaneously paid out under new increment base

In the early days of July, pension and allowance payment points in communes, wards, and towns throughout the province simultaneously implemented the payment of pensions and allowances according to the new increase level set by the government. Understanding the anticipation and excitement of the people on the first day of receiving the increased salary, the provincial Social Insurance collaborated with the provincial Post Office to strengthen the staff working at the payment points, ensuring quick and efficient procedures so that people do not have to wait for long.

Pension received in eagerness

On the morning of July 4, under our observation at the provincial post office, many people took the opportunity to receive their monthly pensions and social insurance benefits. The general sentiment among these individuals is one of joy, as they believe that the additional 15% increase for pensioners and social insurance recipients is quite high and meets their essential spending needs.

Since early morning, Mrs. Phan Thi Xay, who lives in District 1, Phu Hoa Ward, came to receive her and her husband's pension. After signing to receive the new pension amount for both of them, which is over VND 20 million, Mrs. Xay shared: "Nowadays, the cost of living is high, elderly people often get sick, and there are also many parties, so we spend a lot of money every month. With the new pension increase of 15%, it turns out that my husband and I receive an additional VND 2 million per month, which is a considerable amount. In recent days, despite knowing about the pension increase, when it comes to signing and receiving the money, I still feel indescribably happy.”

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhuong in Quarter 5 of Phu Hoa ward, also cannot hide her joy. According to Mrs. Nhuong, despite many years of work, elderly people over 80 years old like her receive a relatively low pension. In previous months, she received an average of VND 4.4 million per month, but now she receives over VND 5 million per month. “I am very happy even though the increase is only over 600,000 dong/month. I highly appreciate the provincial social insurance and the provincial post office, which have cooperated very well in completing the pension increase procedures, providing allowances according to regulations, and ensuring timely and accurate payment. In the past, after each increase, we had to wait and receive the payment later, but this time it was on the exact date set by the State,” she said.

At other payment points in Phu Cuong, Chanh Nghia, Phu Tho, and Hiep Thanh (Thu Dau Mot city), the provincial post office also strengthens each point with 3 to 4 staff members to carry out pension payment at the right time, without making people wait long to receive their new pension amount. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue, from Chanh Nghia Ward, confided: "The procedures are quick and efficient, we receive the money immediately without having to wait. Last month, I received over VND 7.6 million, and now it has increased to over VND 8.8 million, which is an increase of nearly a million dong per month. Increasing pensions in this difficult period is very appropriate and timely, but I also hope that the local authorities can control the market prices after the salary increase; the market needs to be stable so that the salary increase can be more meaningful."

To follow the regulations

There are about 36,000 people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits in the province. Based on Government Decree No. 75/2024/NĐ-CP dated June 30, 2024, regarding the adjustment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly allowances, which will take effect from July 1, 2024. At the same time, to ensure the rights of pension beneficiaries, monthly social insurance benefits, and provincial social insurance are quickly completing the procedures to increase pensions for all eligible individuals according to regulations, with widespread notification to individuals regarding the payment of pensions and monthly social insurance benefits for the July 2024 payment period.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Hien, Deputy Director of the provincial social insurance, said that in addition to paying pensions and monthly allowances at direct payment points, the provincial social insurance will also implement the payment of pensions and allowances for beneficiaries through ATM cards in the early days of July (starting from the 1st and will be completed before the 4th of July), cash payment at payment points starting from the 1st to the 10th of July, and continue to make payments at post office transaction points until the 25th of July. "With proactive construction of specific payment plans and years of payment experience, the provincial social insurance combined with the provincial Post Office commits to timely, accurate, and safe payment of the new benefit level to each beneficiary," Mr. Nguyen Phi Hien shared.

The special point in adjusting monthly pensions and social insurance benefits according to Decree No. 75/2024/ND-CP dated June 30, 2024 of the Government that many people are concerned about is that from July 1, 2024, those who are receiving pensions, social insurance benefits, monthly allowances. After being adjusted according to the regulations with a lower benefit level of less than VND 3,500,000 a month, the additional adjustment is as follows: Increase by an additional VND 300,000 a person/month for those with a benefit level below VND 3,200,000 /person/month; increase to 3,500,000 dong/person/month for those with a benefit level from VND 3,200,000 a person/month to less than VND 3,500,000 a person/month.

According to the new regulations, starting from July 1, 2024, individuals who are receiving pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly allowances, after being adjusted according to the regulations, with a monthly benefit lower than VND 3,500,000, will be further adjusted as follows: an additional increase of VND 300,000 per person per month for those with a benefit below VND 3,200,000 per person per month; an increase to VND 3,500,000 per person per month for those with a benefit ranging from VND 03,200,000 to below VND 3,500,000 per person per month.
