Pension payment via postal system ensures interests of beneficiaries

Binh Duong Post Office has signed a contract in terms of pension, social allowance payment via postal system with provincial Social Insurance (SI). We interviewed Director of provincial SI Mr. Bui Huu Phong about this issue.

Signing ceremony between Post Office and Social Insurance in terms of pension payment via postal system- Sir, how has been the monthly social allowance payment since July 1st 2013?- From July 1st 2013, this payment has been fulfilled via postal system according to directions of the Prime Minister, postal sector and Vietnam Social Insurance as well as approval of provincial People’s Committee.- Binh Duong is one selected province to launch pension payment via postal system. During the implementation, are there any problems surprising beneficiaries?

- The province has now over 16,000 beneficiaries of pensions and social allowances. Localities did the payment. However, there were still losses. Therefore, after one year of this model implementation at 12 provinces and cities, monetary security has been increased, because postal service is a State-owned business being responsible for this issue.

Professional postal officials as well as adequate equipment will carry out well the payment. Nevertheless, they have faced some difficulties at the first time. Related agencies at provincial localities were disseminated for a good implementation.

At first, this payment will confuse retired officials. Thus we announced on Binh Duong Newspaper, Television that payments of July, August and September would still happen at old locations, then since October 2013, payment would be made at post offices.

- Sir, in which conditions, we should make direct payments?

- We are examining delivering payment to homes, but the problem is reasonable fee for this service because this is not a commercial service. Currently, provincial Post Office agrees to deliver payments freely to seriously ill people.

- According to Decree 66/2013 / ND-CP dated June 27th 2013 regarding to minimum basic salary adjustment of public, army officials from VND1,050,000 to VND1,150,000, are pensions also increased, sir?

- Now there are no State’s documents about this issue. We will make the announcement as soon as having official documents.

- Thank you!
