People in TDM raise high spirit in fight against Covid-19 pandemic

From February 2 morning, many streets in TDM city were deserted. City-based shops, eateries also got empty. Possibly speaking, people across the city have seriously implemented social distancing rules for Covid-19 prevention under the PM’s Directive No.16/CT-TTG dated March 21, 2020.

Serious execution

As of February 2 afternoon, most coffee shops, karaoke parlors and eateries were closed. Some eateries only sold takeaway foods and drinks. All parks in the central area of Phu Cuong, Phu Hoa and Hiep Thanh wards had no more mass gatherings. The wards also set up groups being responsible for propagandizing and mobilizing people to seriously comply with the instructions of Covid-19 prevention from sectors, departments in the province.

Le Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of Phu Loi ward’s People’s Committee said that more than 90% of business households in the ward have stopped operations in a bid to prevent Covid-19 pandemic. From January 31 morning, the ward’s People’s Committee established 2 groups being responsible for disseminating Covid-19 prevention and control. As a result, the local people seriously complied measures against the pandemic such as wearing face masks, not organizing festival, mass gatherings at year end. Proprietors of the local lodging facilities also stuck boards with recommendations on social distancing for Covid-19 prevention and control…

Le Thi Diem, the owner of an eatery on Huynh Van Luy street said that her eatery stopped operations under the local government’s recommendation against Covid-19 pandemic and paid Tet bonuses for 30 laborers. She hoped that the pandemic will be curbed soon so that her eatery will also resume operations soon.

For community’s health

Phu Hoa ward where there is a Covid-19 patient is seriously imposing medical blockades on residential areas nearby Thu Dau Mot University. At the local markets, groceries, rice shops…, small traders and buyers have also well realized social distancing rules. Proprietors have also constantly updated information about the development of the pandemic to lodgers…

As of February 2 afternoon, the order situation in isolation zones around Phu Hoa ward’s quarters was set up. There is no more puzzled psychology among households living in the isolation zones of the ward. Basically, necessities for these households have been supplied sufficiently from their relatives.

Tet is approaching while there are many business-production activities affected by Covid-19 pandemic. Many households are under the blockade and isolation orders for Covid-19 prevention. But, residents in the city are ready for complying isolation measures during the Tet holiday, raising high the spirit in the fight against the pandemic.
