After graduation from high school, Phan Minh Tanh joined in military service. Time of military service helped him become Uncle Ho’s soldier. “Probably, because of seeing Uncle Ho every day, I often think of uncle Ho’s teachings and try my best to follow”, he said.
In 2004, he was admitted into the Party and his friend granted Ho Chi Minh’s portrait to him at that time and he placed the photo on altar. This photo was old and he replaced a new one. After that, the ward party committee secretary donated Ho Chi Minh’s portrait to him and he puts it on his desk.
With simple and thrifty lifestyle, he has mobilized everyone at his office to work the simplest things of saving paper, turning off fans and closing taps before going out rooms, etc.
Over the past years, as a secretary of the ward youth union, Phan Minh Tanh has worked with his colleagues to set up significant and new models in conformity with youths and unionists. Specifically, the model of “fixing punctured motorcycle tire free of charge” has been launched on every Lady Thien Hau Temple festival. The model’s members fix punctured motorcycle tire free of charge for pilgrims. This model has been expanded across wards of Hiep Thanh and Phu Cuong and created good impression on pilgrims nationwide.
In addition, he often holds cultural exchange programs, repayment programs, volunteer Saturday, Green Sunday, etc with great response from youths and unionists.
By his contributions, Tanh receives many merit certificates from functional agencies. He revealed “To win support from every one, especially youths and unionists, I talk to them friendly and through the talks, I can grasp their aspiration to create unity and encourage them to follow Uncle Ho’s teachings”.
