Early June 19, Phu Giao district’s Division of Culture and Information held the 2014 festival for outstanding cultural families.
The festival absorbed 33 outstanding cultural families from 10 communes and Phuoc Vinh township. They competed in contents: family knowledge, cooking, art performance and sports. Finally, the organizers awarded first prize to An Binh commune. Second prize went to An Linh commune while Tan Hiep commune grasped third prize. Many consolation prizes were also awarded at the festival.
This was a chance for the local outstanding cultural families to exchange and share skills in building up well-off, equal, happy and advanced families; preserve and uphold the traditional value of Vietnamese families.
*Prior to that, Di An town held a festival for 13 outstanding cultural families. The festival took place very animatedly with contents: family knowledge, cooking, art performance and sports.
As a result, the family of Nguyen Duc Huy in Di An ward won first prize in art performance. First prize in cooking went to the family of Vu Van Toan in Dong Hoa ward. The family of Vo Minh Hai in Tan Binh ward was awarded first prize in sports. Many consolation prizes were also presented at the festival.
