On the morning of June 1, the People's Committee of Phu Giao district held a ceremony to inaugurate a campaign aimed at encouraging the entire population to engage in swimming, prevent drowning among children, and promote a swimming competition for all age groups in 2025.
At the ceremony, the district People's Committee initiated a campaign encouraging community participation in swimming training to prevent drowning among children. Concurrently, it directed agencies, departments, organizations, and authorities at all levels to collaborate closely in organizing effective swimming classes and promoting drowning prevention awareness within the community. These activities encompass organizing competitions to enhance knowledge and skills related to drowning prevention, hosting water sports events, and providing swimming classes for underprivileged children and those facing challenging circumstances in the district.
Immediately following the launch ceremony, the swimming competition commenced, featuring the subsequent events: Freestyle and breaststroke for children, both male and female, at a distance of 25 meters; Freestyle and breaststroke for teenagers at a distance of 50 meters; and Freestyle and breaststroke for youth, both male and female, also at a distance of 50 meters.
On the same day, the district Youth Activities Steering Committee hosted the 15th District Children's Fine Arts Award Contest in 2025.
The contest featured over 200 children aged 4 to 15 from various schools within the district. During the event, the children showcased their artistic talents through paintings that explored themes such as the history and origins of the nation, the importance of water sources, the beloved figure of Uncle Ho, the diligent studies of Binh Duong children, local festivals and cultural heritage, environmental protection, traffic safety, the prevention of violence and child abuse, familial love, as well as peace and solidarity.
At the conclusion of the contest, the Organizing Committee presented awards to A, B, C, and consolation prizes for each age group. Simultaneously, a selection of outstanding works was chosen to participate in the Provincial Children's Fine Arts Award contest.
