Phu Giao district Red Cross Congress organized for the 5th time of 2021-2026 tenure

On October 28, the Red Cross in Phu Giao district held the 5th Congress of delegates in 2021-2026 tenure. Attending the meeting was Mr. Pham Van Chanh, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of the provincial Red Cross. Attending the congress was 61 official delegates representing more than 12,000 officers, members and volunteers in the whole district. Phu Giao district Red Cross is the organizer of the first district-level Red Cross Congress of the province.

In the last term, despite many difficulties, the activities of the Red Cross of Phu Giao district has developed quite comprehensively as its officers, members, volunteers at all levels and people in the district have inherited and promoted the tradition of kindness to overcome difficulties and made efforts to implement the program of poverty reduction and new rural construction.

Speaking to direct the congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh suggested that in the coming time, all levels of the Red Cross and each officer, member, volunteer, and youth of the Red Cross in Phu Giao district must continue to promote the tradition of compassion and take advantage of the potentials, advantages and achievements to realize the goal of building a strong Red Cross of Phu Giao district to become a core organization in humanitarian activities. Activities shall be comprehensively promoted for local Red Cross to act as the focal point for gathering humanitarian and charity activities in the community. Effective implemention of 2 breakthrough stages, namely "Strengthening resource mobilization" and "Developing the Red Cross volunteer force" are promoted to especially focus on well implemention of the movements of "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims" and the campaign of attachments to humanitarian addresses.

The Congress elected 20 members to the new Executive Committee. Ms. Ho Thu Thuy was re-elected as the Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Red Cross Association of Phu Giao district for the 5th tenure. The congress also elected 19 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the 5th Provincial Congress of Vietnamese Red Cross of the 2021-2026 tenure for the time to come.
