Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society, on June 27, held a conference to partially sum up its mid-term activities and award the certificates of merit of provincial Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation to 49 individuals, 2 families for their excellent performance in the voluntary blood donation campaign.
The district’s Red Cross Societies reportedly got involved in many social charity activities estimated at more than VND10.4bln. Particularly, they mobilized and presented nearly 8,000 Tet gifts to poor people, Agent Orange victims with a total value of more than VND1.8bln; built and handed over 7 houses of compassion worth more than VND242mln to needy people and Agent Orange victims; received more than 30,800 kg of rice and supported them for 3,833 poor people; visited and offered help of more than VND1bln for 1,020 ill cases; awarded gifts, scholarships to poor pupils, disabled people and Agent Orange victims...
Such these apart, the district’s Red Cross Societies at all levels well realized public healthcare with a total expense of more than VND1.9bln.
