On Dec. 3, Phu Giao district Women Union held a summing up conference of the union and women movement 2014 with the participation of Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, chairwoman of the provincial Women Union.
Over the past year, the union at all levels launched effective implementation of emulation movements and 6 key tasks of the union. Accordingly, the union at all levels disseminated instruction and the Party and State’s policies and laws for cadres, members with the participation of 40,000 people.
The union continued to spur the mobilization of Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples through models of piggy bank raising, assistance for poor women, new rural building and so on.
As a result, the union mobilized to grant 3 charity houses worth VND140mil to needy women. Especially, in the movement of “women help each other develop home-based economy”, more than 2,600 sisters helped 579 needy ones with the total value of more than VND1.5bil. In addition, the union helped 100% of poor and sub-poor households enjoy loans and held vocational training classes for 500 woman members and introduced jobs for nearly 300 sisters.
On this occasion, the district Women Union granted insignias for women’s development to 46 individuals, donated merit certificates to excellent collectives and individuals in the movement of women union.
