Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee, on March 9, held a ceremony to motivate the Youth Month 2014 and the 22nd “Green Sunday” campaign.
Accordingly, the district’s Steering Board for the Volunteer Youth Year will get involved in significant activities for the sake of the community, including organizing vocational training and job creation activities for youth; kicking off a get-together to mark the 83rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, visiting and presenting gifts to soldiers at the Border Station 785 in Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province; opening classes on life skills, awarding scholarships to teenagers and children; organizing classes on thoroughly grasping the resolutions of Youth Union congresses at all levels; promoting “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”; improving the quality of the Youth Union branches…
With the theme of “Youth in Phu Giao district volunteer for the sake of the community, joining hands in the construction of urban civilization and new rural areas”, the district’s Steering Board for the Volunteer Youth Year will coordinate with relevant agencies to hand over one benevolence house to a Youth Union member with difficult circumstance; provide free medical check-up and medicine for 100 people with difficulties; install a lighting system on one km of rural traffic road; present 100 notebooks to poor pupils in Phuoc Hoa commune; implement 4 Green Sundays; take part in maintaining social order, traffic safety…
After the launching ceremony, more than 300 Youth Union members cleaned up the 19-8 street from Phuoc Vinh township to Tam Lap commune. This is a model street managed by the local Youth Union. The organizers also received VND25mln from the Youth Union of An Phuoc Prison and the Youth Union of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co. to build benevolence houses for the local poor youth.
