Leaders of Phu Giao district held a delegation to visit and present gifts to the local Buddhist dignitaries on the occasion of the Vu Lan festival 2014.
At the visiting places, leaders of the district extended best regards to Buddhist dignitaries and followers while wishing them a peaceful and happy Vu Lan season. They also wanted that Buddhist dignitaries and followers across the district would always live with the motto of “good life and good religion” while joining hands with the local people to further uphold achievements done in all aspects and promote the national great unity bloc.
It is known that the annual Vu Lan festival falls on the seventh month of lunar calendar. On this occasion, Buddhist dignitaries, followers and people nationwide gather at pagodas to offer incense to ancestors and pray that their parents will live to a great age in order to pay gratitude to them. This also reminds all people to respect their existing material and spiritual values to live better and usefully for family and the society.
