The People’s Committee of Phu Giao district has just organized a meeting in response to the 2014 Earth Hour campaign with the theme of "Action for a Greener Earth”.
In response to the campaign, the People’s Committee of Phu Giao called for people from all strata to join hands for environment, increasing awareness about protecting the living environment under the complicated phenomenon of climate change; get involved in practical actions such as switching off unnecessary electrical devices, not littering to protect the environment, using electrical devices properly…
The meeting also aimed to called for the local people to express their commitment in response to the campaign via turning off unnecessary devices from 8pm to 9:30pm on March 29 and regularly implement this action during the year.
After the meeting, more than 300 local Youth Union members, pupils and people took park in a parade going through DT741 street from Vinh Hoa junior high school to the People’s Committee of Phuoc Vinh township, the district’s Administration Center and Phuoc Vinh market.
The organizers also awarded prizes to winners of the district’s writing contest in response to the 2014 Earth Hour campaign (photo).
