Phu Giao takes good care of revolutionary contributors

Like other localities, Phu Giao district has paid more attention to taking care of policy beneficiary families and those who have rendered great service to the nation via many significant activities.

Since 2010, Phu Giao district has built 26 gratitude houses, upgraded 34 others for war invalids and martyrs’ families with extremely difficult circumstances. The district has also provided allowances for 730 pupils and students who are the offspring of war invalids and sick soldiers while granting the certificates of school fee exemption for 381 such cases.

Besides, 213 local policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors and their relatives have enjoyed allowances only once. The district has also sought and repatriated 27 sets of martyrs’ remains to the local martyrs’ cemetery.

Thanks to socialization, the district’s task of taking care of policy beneficiaries has been implemented well. Among them, many have overcome difficulties and become good farmers in production and business. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, a war invalid in Phuoc Sang commune is now the owner of a 10-ha rubber plantation under exploitation and also gets involved in trading building materials. His family’s annual income is around VND400mln.

Or, other war invalid Tran Van Ly in Phuoc Vinh township now owns a 6-ha rubber plantation. His family has also got involved in animal husbandry with more than 200 sows, 400 pigs for meat and more than 10,000 chickens. The above models have helped his family secured the annual income of more than VND300mln.

Doan Van Dong, Vice-Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that under the moral principle of “When drinking water, remember its source”, Phu Giao has well realized policies for policy beneficiary families and those who have rendered great service to the nation. The district has opportunely instructed localities and mass organizations to join hands to take care of needy policy beneficiary families. The district has also implemented new preferential policies, especially the Ordinance on preferential treatment given to revolutionary contributors; boosted activities of “Paying debt of gratitude”…
