Late September 20, Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society handed over VND1.5mln to Vu Ngoc Lam, 56, a patient with fatal illness in Phuoc Goa commune’s hamlet 1A. He has to get a dialysis three times a month plus drugs with a total expenditure of VND7mln-VND10mln.
The above money was funded by Le Thi Suong, a member of the Volunteers’ Club under the district’s Red Cross Society. She will also provide Lam with the monthly allowance of VND300,000.
*Early September 20, Tan Uyen town’s Tan Hiep ward joined hands with Vietcombank’s Binh Duong Branch to award 24 scholarships to pupils with extremely difficult circumstances.
Of these, 16 worth VND500,000 each were given for primary school pupils; 5 worth VND800,000 each for secondary school pupils and 3 worth VND1mln each for high school pupils.
These scholarships are worth VND15mln, including VND5mln from Tan Hiep ward’s Study Promotion Society and the remainder from Vietcombank’s Binh Duong Branch.
