Pilot model on "Classifying household solid waste at source" makes debut

Phu Giao district’s Women's Union has just coordinated with the district’s Division of Natural Resources and Environment, Public Works Enterprise and the People's Committee of Phuoc Vinh township to launch a pilot model on "Classifying household solid waste at source".

The model has 103 members who are households living along both sides of Bo Mua street in Phuoc Vinh township’s quarter 9. The goal of the model is to reduce the amount of household waste, especially household solid waste, discharged into the environment, thereby reducing transportation and treatment costs, turning ordinary waste into useful products for reuse... It also contributes to making people change their awareness and have a sense of responsibility for collecting, classifying and treating household solid waste.

After the launching ceremony, Women's Union officials of 11 communes, towns and 50 soldiers of the Regiment 271 and households joined forces to clean the environment.
