At 7 p.m of July 26, nearly 800 youths and unionists across province gathered the provincial Martyr Cemetery to light up candles in commemoration of fallen soldiers on the occasion of the Day for War Invalid and Martyrs, July 27.
Martyrs’ examples brightened forever
5,340 candles were lighted up by local young people that brightened names of numerous elite people. And, their sacrifice has been engraved on young generation’s memory. “We will engrave their sacrifice for our generation”, said Nguyen Xuan Huy, a 12th grader of Tran Van On high school in Thuan An town. Huy has attended the ceremony for two times.
A candle lighting ceremony is solemnly held at the provincial Martyr Cemetery.
Nguyen Phong Phu, a teacher of Binh Duong provincial Intermediate Vocational School, said this was a very significant program for young generation and I myself promise to be a dedicated teacher for students”.
Do Van Phung, secretary of provincial youth union for corporate bloc, said the ceremony is one of significant activities of local youths and is one of activities to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the Day for War Invalid and Martyrs, July 27. With the slogan of “each candle lights up thousands of hearts”, local youths affirmed their deep gratitude and the ceremony was one of a very significant programs.
Following fallen soldiers’ examples
Le Thi Tam, member of the provincial department of Culture-Sport and Tourism’s youth union executive board, said “with a deep awareness on the fallen soldiers’ sacrifice, the department youths and unionists have always involved in movement of gratitude repayment. After the ceremony, we will engage in activities of visiting martyr cemetery, granting gifts to heroic mothers…”.
Present at the ceremony, the provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Huynh Van Nhi, said “local youths through generations are very proud to follow the fallen soldiers’ examples”.
And along with youths throughout the country, local youths and unionists enjoyed a pink night to light up deep belief of the past to head for a brighter future.
Also the same day, Di An district youth union held a candle lighting ceremony at the town Martyr Cemetery. At the ceremony, local leaders, public servants, soldiers and over 1,000 youths and unionists lighted up 1,000 candles and visited the fallen soldiers’ tombs.
At Tan Uyen district Martyr Cemetery, more than 2,000 candles were lighted up with the participation of local leaders, mass bodies and 300 young people.
Meanwhile, despite rains, youths and unionists of 15 communes, townships, 23 youth sub-unions and 3 Ben Cat district-based high schools’ youth unions involved in the candle lighting ceremony at Ben Cat district Martyr Cemetery.
