Plan on considering, awarding titles "People's Artist", "Meritorious Artist" implemented

Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST) has just planned on the organization of considering and awarding the titles of "People's Artist" and "Meritorious Artist" to artists in the province.

The plan is implemented to select and honor artists with sufficient virtuous characters, outstanding contributions, outstanding artistic talents in all artistic forms. The State Council will submit the list of the artists to the Prime Minister in order to propose the State President for awarding the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist to the artists.

The plan specifies that all-level councils ‘organization of considering and awarding the titles must be implemented in line with standards, processes and procedures as prescribed at the Prime Minister’s Decree No. 89/2014/ND-CP dated September 29, 2014 on considering and awarding the titles of People's Artist, Meritorious Artist; the Government’s Decree No. 40/2021/ND-CP dated March 30, 2021 on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 89/2014/ND-CP and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Decision No. 1660/QDBVHTTDL dated May 25, 2021. All-level councils must work on schedule.

The heads of associations and related art units are responsible for disseminating the above decrees and decisions as well as provincial DoCST’s plan on considering and awarding the titles of “People's Artist” and “Meritorious Artist”; guiding the cases of their organizations and units to make dossiers in accordance with regulations, synthesize complete dossiers and send them to provincial DoCST  while  coordinating with provincial DoCST in the task.

The deadline for receiving dossiers from grassroots councils is June 30, 2021. They will consider and send the dossiers to the provincial council no later than July 20, 2021. The provincial council will meet, consider and send the dossiers to the State-level specialized council no later than September 3, 2021.
