“More and more women have joined in socio-political activities. However, leadership positions for female cadres remain limited. Therefore, planning and training for female cadres are one of important and urgent tasks”, said Doan Thi Dieu Hien, chairwoman of the provincial Women Union.

and improvement of female cadres’ quality are one of top issues
in the 2011-2016 term.Could you tell about women’s achievements over years?
Possibly speaking, women have made efforts to excel role and duty for family and society. This is showed through implementation of activities for women. Accordingly, the rate of female cadres holding leadership positions has increased sharply after party congresses at all levels. The success is thanks to all level party cells’ attention and instruction.
Meanwhile, legal documents and policies relating to women have been launched timely. However, there remain restrictions such poor attention to training work for female cadres, women’s barriers of family and children and so on.
Could you set out detailed figures for female cadres’ activities?
The work of planning of female cadres is an important content of the provincial human resources development strategy for the 2011-2020 period, so planning, training, appointment and usage of female cadres have been paid attention by all level party cells, mass bodies. Specifically, female cadres and public servants have been annually sent to training and fostering classes.
Appointment of female cadres and public servants to leadership and managerial positions has been increased sharply. At present, female heads and vice heads of agencies and sectors at all levels account for 17 at provincial level and 42 at district level.
The rate of female cadres joining in all level party cells for the 2010-2015 term has reached 22.82%, a 5.08% increase from the previous tenure.
So, what measures will be set out for female cadre activity, madam?
At the 9th provincial women congress (2011-2016 term) we set out 4 priority issues including training and fostering for female cadres, planning and appointment of women to leadership positions.
To excel the issues, the provincial Women Union has set out significant measures including emulation movements and effective mobilizations. The union has targeted key goals of improving awareness, capacity, knowledge and upholding moral values for women and so on.
