To salute the 15th anniversary of Binh Duong province’s re-establishment (Jan. 1, 1997-2012) and the 82nd anniversary of Vietnamese Communist Party (Feb. 3, 1930-2012) and Lunar New Year 2012, activities of music performance, sport and so on took place lively before, during and after Tet.
Numerous activities of culture and art
According to the provincial department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, before Tet, the department held and launched a learning contest on re-establishment and development of Binh Duong province and received over 32,000 entries from 149 units. In addition, the 2012 Spring Newspaper Festival opened at the provincial Library on Jan 17.

festivals on every Tet in the province was Spring flower festival that was
opened at the provincial Museum in the evening of Jan. 21 and the 7th
Dragon Dance Festival at the provincial Culture Center from Jan. 27-30. During
Tet holiday 2012, thousands of local people enjoyed music shows at the
provincial Culture Center.
Earlier, the provincial team of mobile information held 12 music shows to cater for poor immigrant laborers who stayed the province for Tet. The provincial mobile film presentation team organized 48 Vietnamese film presentation sessions and music shows for 9,700 viewers. In addition, the local song and dance troupe in cooperation with the divisions of culture and information across localities held 16 music shows for immigrant workers throughout local industrial parks.
Lively activities of sport and tourism
The department and Binh Duong Radio and Television Station co-held a 13th cross-country tournament 2012 with the participation of over 7,600 people and the 2012 Billiards Championship luring 109 athletes across localities.
Meanwhile, travel units in the province launched numerous attractive programs to serve for local people’s entertainment demand. Especially, local tourism sites such as Dai Nam Van Hien, Phuong Nam Resort, Mat Xanh park, Sai Gon tourism village, Thang Loi restaurant and hotel, Hoang Yen hotel and so on forwarded Tet activities including dragon dances, fashion shows, music shows and so on.
As of Jan. 28, local tourism sites lured millions of turns of tourists. Dai Nam Van Hien Paradise alone attracted over 400,000 tourists.
Welcoming Spring across localities
Across localities, activities of decorations of flower streets and gates as well as fireworks at administration centers took place lively and lured countless people. Additionally, sport activities of volleyball, football, billiards, Chinese chess, badminton, table-tennis, martial art, regatta and among others took place lively.
Possibly speaking, local preparation and organization of activities welcoming Tet 2012 took place successfully, meeting local residents’ demand on entertainment.
