2017 was selected as the Year for the benefits of trade unionists at the 9th session of the 11th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. This once again affirms that taking care of trade unionists and laborers is the top task of the Trade Union. Provincial Trade Union and its branches have promoted activities under the theme of the Year for the benefit of trade unionists.
Bui Thanh Nhan, Chairman of provincial Labor Union said that the goal of the Year for the benefits of trade unionists and laborers is to organize activities bringing more practical benefits to laborers.

Also according to him, this year’s main content is to take care of trade unionists and laborers via negotiating, signing mass labor deals; setting up and realizing democratic regulations at grassroots level; organizing welfare programs…It is known that the whole province last year had a total of 313 mass labor deals signed or 92% of the yearly plan. There are now 1,090 valid mass labor deals applied in businesses with trade union locals. Trade Unions at all levels of the province also gave consultancy on the Labor Code, the Law on Trade Union and policies for more than 1,800 laborers; received and took part in dealing with 593 complaints…Especially, under the “Tet sum vay” (Gathering in Tet holiday) program 2017, provincial Labor Union gave more than 3,000 free bus tickets for workers to return home for Tet. In addition, the local authorities at all levels supported VND4.3billion while the local trade unions at all levels mobilized businesses and donors to present more than 400,000 gifts worth more than VND170billion.
This year, the local Trade Unions at all levels will also create favorable conditions for trade unionists to take part in cultural-sports activities; ensure their political interests and rights; assist them to attend classes to enhance their workmanship; promote emulation movements, especially the “working well, working creatively” emulation movement among them, thereby opening opportunities for their advancement.
Under the Year for the benefits of trade unionists, the local Trade Unions at all levels have also deployed a variety of practical activities. Dang Quang Duan, Chairman of Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co.Ltd.’s Trade Union local said that 100% of laborers at the company have so far had labor deals with interests and rights ensured. The company has also realized policies to improve laborers’ workmanship. Noticeably, the company has organized monthly dialogues between laborers and directorate. This has helped the company grasp laborers’ aspirations for timely solutions, ensuring their legitimate rights and interests.
Nguyen Van Thuat, Chairman of International Chutex Co.Ltd.’s Trade Union local said that activities of the company’s Trade Union local have got more and more ample. Particularly, the Trade Union local has regularly monitored the company’s realization of policies for laborers; helped them understand and sign labor deals with the company as stipulated; opportunely grasped their aspirations, well ensuring their legitimate rights and interests; mobilized them to take part in charity activities…
In response to the Year for the benefits of trade unionists, the local Trade Unions at all levels have held a lot of practical activities to take care of trade unionists’ legitimate rights and interests. But, Trade Union officials need to have a deep understanding of trade unionists’ aspirations for timely solutions, well ensuring their legitimate rights and interests.
