Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin are those who have suffered a lot of pain left by the war. Therefore, the work of caring for and supporting them has always been concerned by all-level authorities and sectors, especially provincial Associations of Victims of AO/dioxin at all levels in order to partially alleviate the pain of the victims, giving them more motivation to rise up in life.

For AO/dioxin victims

In the early days of this August, when the whole country looks forward to the 62nd anniversary of the AO/dioxin disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2023) and the Vietnam Day for Victims of AO/dioxin (August 10), provincial Associations of Victims of AO/dioxin at all levels have had practical activities to visit, encourage and take care of the victims.

Most of the victims that the delegation visited and gave gifts this time were revolutionary soldiers on battlefields in the past. Although the war receded, for the victims, the pain of Agent Orange remains and continues being passed on to their children and grandchildren. Therefore, when being visited and shared by the local leaders, the victims and their relatives were very happy and warm…

“Although the value is not great, the gifts are from the heart, showing the timely care and sharing of all-level authorities, sectors and provincial Associations of Victims of AO/dioxin Victims at all levels to the victims on this occasion, encouraging them to try to overcome difficulties and rise up in life", shared Mr. Long.

Various support activities

It is expected that in this year's Action Month for Victims of AO/dioxin, provincial Association of Victims of AO/dioxin will support its branches with funding to give gifts for about 210 victims. Each gift is worth VND1million in cash. The association will also coordinate with relevant units to visit victims with extremely difficult circumstances. In addition to a gift worth VND700,000, each of them will be given additional VND 2 million in cash.

From 2019 to the first half of 2023, the province spent nearly VND11billion on helping victims of AO/dioxin.
