Under regulations issued by Ministry of Education and Training, the national high school contest will be July 1-4 of 2016. Under the new regulations, the provinces will be organizing groups of examination depending on the groups of entrance to universities coming up next. Preparing for the examination, Department of Education and Training has demanded schools to well-organize review sessions for school students while accelerating preparation for the examination.
Nguyen Hong Sang, the Department of Education and Training Director, has informed us that the province will only organize groups of entrance examination to universities. Ministry of Education and Training has designated University of Economics and Laws under Ho Chi Minh City National University to host the examination group in coordination with Binh Duong Provincial Department of Education and Training and Thu Dau Mot University. Currently, the group has not been located but it should be in a town or urban area. By regulations of Ministry of Education and Training, the examination group will include at least 50% of monitors of the hosting establishment while the assessment team will include teachers and instructors of universities and colleges.

For well preparation of the upcoming examination, the Department has demanded the selected senior high schools to review their facilities and attending candidates as well as conditions assuring the vital examination. For safety and order of the examination, the Department has trained up officers of schools and localities. From the beginning of April, senior high schools will be accepting candidate registration from their students and free candidates who are former students but not graduated. Continual educational centers will be accepting registration of students of their center and former students who have not graduated. Such registration will be forwarded to division of professional education and universities under the Department to work as evidence for registration of senior high school graduation contest and result acquiring for enrollment into universities and colleges.
For senior high school graduation examination in 2016, the candidates will do 8 subjects of Mathematics, Literature, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and foreign language. Those candidates of high school graduation only will register for 4 subjects including 3 compulsory subjects of Literature, Mathematics, English, and 1 optional subject. Those candidates of high school graduation and enrollment to universities and colleges, registration will be made with 3 compulsory subjects and other subject required for the enrollment. April 1 through 30 will be the time of registration, beyond which, the registered candidates cannot change their examination group and registered subjects.
For high outcome of the examination, the attending students are advised to register by their learning competence. As the registration is to the end of the month, they should not be so hurry. Boards of Trusties of senior high schools informed that they would organize meeting with students’ parents to inform them of the contest and notify of optional subjects.
Preparation has been thoroughly made in 3 months before the national high school graduation examination. Schools, after April and the end of the second semester of the senior school year, have started lesson review for students in accordance with the registered subject groups. The schools have been demanded by the Department to guide their students to select the subjects of their advantages with limitation on changing the subjects. In May, the Department will organize a test examination to get their students familiar with the new examination and tests. The test examination will offer good evaluation of the students to carry out better review before the genuine examination.
