Prepare forces, materials, and vehicles to promptly respond to natural disasters

In order to effectively prevent and avoid extreme weather conditions, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and hails due to the seasonal change, Binh Duong provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue recommends Steering Committees in districts, towns and cities seriously arrange staff on duty and closely monitor warnings and weather forecasts about heavy rain and thunderstorms; promptly inform Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue in communes, wards, townships, and people to proactively implement preventive measures to ensure safety for people and property.

The Standing Office of Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue also asked relevant units and localities to prepare forces, materials, and vehecles to proactively respond and timely overcome difficulties when natural disasters occur and quickly carry out procedures, promptly support people to stabilize their lives soon; inform the population to prevent unfortunate accidents related to the power grid.

According to Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, a thunderstorm at 5.00 pm on April 4 caused damage, leading to an electrical accident that killed 3 people and injured 1 person in My Phuoc ward, Ben Cat town. Thunderstorms and whirlwinds tore off the roofs of 13 houses, collapsed two billboards, broke glass doors of many classrooms, caused power outages on many roads and downed many trees. Estimated property damage is more than VND1.2 billion. 

In Dau Tieng district, for two consecutive days, 3 and 4 April, thunderstorms and whirlwinds blew off 15 house roofs, blew off roofs of 3 auxiliary works, cracked walls of 3 houses, and collapsed walls of 2 auxiliary works. Damage is estimated at VND160 million.
