Preparing all conditions for new academic year

As planned, all students in the province will come back to school on August 28. Together with other localities in the province, Bau Bang district has actively prepared conditions in terms of material facilities, teaching staff and helped disadvantaged students…to create a joyful atmosphere, being ready to welcome students on the first day of the new school year.

Getting ready for new academic year

Over the past few days, teachers and students of Hoa Mi Kindergarten in Tru Van Tho commune actively cleaned classrooms, practiced art performance items to prepare for the opening ceremony of the new school year. Right from the beginning of August, the school completed its enrollment work while cleaning and decorating its campus and classrooms, creating a green, clean and beautiful scenery to welcome children. Vu Thi Tuan Anh, the school's principal said that in the new school year, Hoa Mi Kindergarten has 12 class groups with 370 children. To prepare for the new school year, the school has repaired and opened its exit system, new windows, reinstalled a water system in the classrooms. Besides, the school's teachers also have a plan to practice art performance items to prepare for the opening day of the new academic year.

Whilst, the atmosphere to prepare for the new school year at Long Binh primary school in Long Nguyen commune is also bustling. Nguyen Thi Luu, the school's principal shared that the school has also repaired broken equipment and applied for additional new equipment. To overcome a problem on teacher shortage, the school has also flexibly contracted with retired teachers. As of now, the school's material facilities and teachers have basically met teaching and learning requirements. The school is ready for the new school year.

In general, as of now, the material facilities of schools in Bau Bang district are relatively adequate for teaching and learning in the new school year of 2023-2024. To prepare for the 2023-2024 new school year, the district’s Division of Education and Training coordinated with relevant units to carry out summer renovation at school units with 9 work items from non-business capital with total cost of more than VND 8 billion. In addition, the district registered a procurement package for equipment purchased by provincial Department of Education and Training with total cost of over VND 2 billion to equip school units.

Nguyen Thi My Le, Head of Bau Bang district’s Education and Training Division said that in order to prepare for the new school year, as of now, the division has directed school units to well prepare all conditions for the school year such as completing first-level enrollment; repairing and cleaning up classrooms, offices, yards, fences and many other works at kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools and conditions to serve cooking for boarding schools; organizing professional training, summer political training for managers, teachers and staff... All are in a cheerful and excited mood, being ready to welcome students in the new school year with confidence in successfully completing the tasks of the school year of 2023-2024.

Giving strength to school

In addition to preparation in terms of material facilities and teachers, Bau Bang district’s sector of education and training has paid special importance to offering help to disadvantaged students on the threshold of the new school year. The district’s Division of Education-Training and Study Promotion Association have just awarded “Giving strength to school” scholarships to more than 300 poor-but-excellent students across the district.

Accordingly, disadvantaged students at primary and secondary schools got scholarships worth VND 500,000 each and 10 notebooks. For high-school students, they were awarded scholarships worth VND 1 million each together with 10 notebooks. The above scholarships were sponsored by the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - North Binh Duong Branch with VND 120 million, VND 100 million by Dat Vang Group and Bau Bang Electricity with 2,500 notebooks, Bau Bang district’s Post Office with 500 notebooks.

Ho Thi Nhu Hoa, a student in class 7A1 of Quang Trung secondary school in Hung Hoa commune shared: “I am very happy to receive the attention and support of donors on the threshold of the new school year. I will use the money to buy necessary school things, partially reducing the burden on my father. Having enough books and learning tools, I will study hard to become an obedient child and a good student."

In order to opportunely support children, students with difficult circumstances and implement the determination of "Do not let any student drop out of school, due to difficult circumstances". In recent years, departments, mass organizations and localities in Bau Bang district have actively carried out activities “Giving strength to school” for disadvantaged students in the district. These meaningful scholarships and gifts have helped their families alleviate some difficulties as well as giving them more motivation to study better.

Nguyen Van Giu, Chairman of Bau Bang district’s Study Promotion Association said that giving support for disadvantaged students is an annual activity of the association at the beginning of each new school year. The noble gesture of organizations, individuals and departments and mass organizations in the district is of great significance for these students. This will be a great source of spiritual encouragement to help and share difficulties with these students so that they can firmly go to school and strive on their learning path.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, Bau Bang district has 34 schools, including 28 public schools and 6 non-public ones. The total number of students is expected to be more than 22,400 students on 627 groups and classes, an increase of 1,049 students on 20 class groups compared to the previous school year. As of now, educational institutions in the district have basically completed tasks on repairing material facilities, purchasing teaching equipment sufficiently. District-based schools have also actively renovation work to create a green, clean, beautiful and friendly learning environment.
