2020 is the year Vietnam in general, Binh Duong in particularly is actively making international integration and vigorously applying sci-tech achievements in the fourth industrial revolution. Hence, the development of qualified human resources for the fourth industrial revolution and Binh Duong smart city construction is one of province-based vocational training facilities ‘major targets.
Innovation in human resource training
Some new industries will be developed in the fourth industrial revolution. Therefore, province-based vocational training facilities have focused on improving themselves strongly in order to meet their renewal task and enhance the quality of human resources.

In the face of opportunities and challenges from the fourth industrial revolution, Vietnam-Korea Vocational College has bent on training spearheading skills at society’s needs for qualified human resources towards a Binh Duong smart city. Over the past years, the school unceasingly made investment in material facilities, equipment; attached special importance to enhancing teaching and managerial staff ‘qualification; improved training programs; strengthen cooperation with enterprises at requirements of the fourth industrial revolution.
In the 2019-2020 academic year, Binh Duong Technology Administration Center has linked with HCM city’s Vocational College to train additional skills with higher level; applied new technologies into training programs to be able to keep up with the fourth industrial revolution. Nguyen Tan Duy, Director of the center said that the fourth industrial revolution will bring huge challenges to workforce in the future. Hence, the center must define which human resources the society will need in the future for appropriate training. It is known that over the past five years, the center boosted the linkage with enterprises, joined provincial Young Entrepreneurs ‘Association and created job opportunities for students after graduation.
Supporting schools, enterprises in human resource training
In 2020, the rate of laborers trained in the province is expected to reach 80%. Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) has taken solutions to make the linkage between the State, businesses and schools, in addition to the support of scientists in order to improve the quality of human resources for the fourth industrial revolution.

Binh Duong smart city will be a green, clean and flexible city with sci-tech development. Being in tune with this trend, province-based vocational training facilities have made appropriate paces to enhance the effectiveness of vocational training at society’s requirements of human resources ‘quality in the new context.
According to Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of provincial DoLISA, the province is now home to 95 vocational training facilities. They need to supply the local labor market with 25,000-30,000 skilled laborers every year. In general, their training quality has been improved with some students winning prizes at national skill contests. Along with improvement in terms of material facilities, educational equipment, teaching and managerial staff, they have been proactive to grasp laborers ‘needs for learning and market’s needs, boosted the linkage with businesses, expanded skills, especially for hi-tech skills for the fourth industrial revolution and key ones at national and ASEAN levels…
