In the face of a resurgence and unpredictable developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, businesses in the province have strictly implemented disease prevention and control measures to both protect the health of workers and ensure the maintenance of production and business activities.
To protect health of workers and stabilize production
Mr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Compass II Co. Ltd. in Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP), said that before the unpredictable situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, they have actively coordinated with the Board of Directors of the company to quickly reactivate epidemic prevention and control measures as recommended by the health sector to protect the health of their employees. Specifically, every day before entering the company, all employees must have their body temperature measured; they must wash their hands by antiseptic solution, wear a mask, scan the medical declaration bar-code, and spray disinfectant in the production area while keeping working distance at the factory. And at the company's canteen, all the dining tables are fitted with partitions. Only 2 people are arranged to sit while dining time is divided into 5 different zones to limit mass gathering and to protect the health of employees and improve the prevention of epidemics in the company. The company's Trade Union also promoted propaganda activities and increased the frequency of propaganda on the company's internal loudspeakers so that all employees working in the department can strictly follow the epidemic prevention and control recommendations and the "5K” message of Ministry of Health.

Workers at Esquel Garment Manufacturing Vietnam Co. Ltd. strictly observed mask wearing and distancing during production to prevent the epidemic
As noted, Phong Thai Rubber Company Limited in Tan Dinh Production Area of Ben Cat Town, Sao Viet Joint Stock Company in Dong An 1 Industrial Park of Thuan An city, Esquel Garment Manufacturing Vietnam Co. Ltd. in VSIP have also reactivated epidemic prevention measures to protect workers' health and stabilize production activities of enterprises. They have actively implemented many measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic by spraying disinfectants at workplaces throughout the factory, by measuring body temperature to check the health status of employees. Customers entering the company to work are required to wear masks and wash their hands with antiseptic solution and keep safe distances. At the same time, companies have also had the recommendations of Ministry of Health and the "5K” message on the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control of at production workshops, canteens, garages, etc. for employees to easily learn and follow.
Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Director of Sao Viet Joint Stock Company, said that before the unpredictable situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, in order to improve the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the company has just decided to establish a Covid-19 Safety Team. Accordingly, every day, team members spend at least 30 minutes (with salary to perform the task of disease prevention and control) propagating, urging, guiding and reminding employees to strictly implement preventive measures against Covid-19 at work and outside working hours. Members monitor, examine and supervise measures to prevent and control Covid-19 while detecting, reminding and recommending the responsible personnel to promptly handle cases of violations on disease prevention and control as well as cases of employees showing symptoms of cough, fever, sore throat, flu syndrome, and inflammation respiratory tract etc. to isolate and collect samples for testing in a timely manner. The members support the company and the authorities in tracing the F1 and F2 cases and emergency cases when the company has sick people or those who have to be medically isolated according to the decision of the competent authority; to propose to responsible personnel and trade union officials to ensure measures, means and supplies in the prevention and control of Covid-19.
To improve awareness
Binh Duong currently has over 1.2 million workers, more than 80% of whom are immigrant workers. Therefore, solutions to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic are not only in businesses but also deployed to hostels with focus on propaganda for residents to proactively prevent Covid-19. Being at Mr. Tran Tan Dao's hostel at Group 13 of Tan Phu 1 neighborhood in Tan Binh ward of Di An city and by chatting with the residing workers we knew that all of them have been proactive in preventing the Covid-19 epidemic. Employees remind one other not to litter or spit indiscriminately, to clean up and wear masks when going to crowded places, to strengthen by resistance by regulated dining.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang, a worker at an electrical equipment manufacturing company in Di An city, said: "In the past few days, I have regularly watched newspapers and radio stations to update information on the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic. Protect the health of yourself, your loved ones and those around you. In addition, I was also informed by the hostel owner about measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic at the place of residence. I bought masks, antibacterial soap to wash my hands regularly and clean the room with antiseptic solution and limit going to crowded places.” Mr. Tran Tan Dao, the owner of the hostel, said: “Not only do we propagandize and remind residents to follow the recommendations for disease prevention and control of the health sector, but my family also actively reminds residents to eat and drink in moderation to increase the body's resistance.”
Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Deputy President of the provincial Trade Union, said that before the unpredictable situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the provincial Trade Union had issued a document directing all levels of public servants to take action. Unions in the province continue to promote propaganda and mobilize trade union members and employees to raise their awareness and proactively take measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic as recommended by the health sector to protect their personal and community health.
Accordingly, the grassroots trade unions ensure that 100% of employees and workers must wear masks at work and in public places; at the same time, they should help them avoid panic and not to share misleading information in any form and not to be subjective or neglectful in disease prevention and control. Trade unions need to actively coordinate with businesses and functional agencies to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic when required; especially, they should launch donations and support the Central Covid-19 Vaccine Fund and the program of "Millions of vaccines for poor workers" launched by the Vietnam General Trade Union with the desire to vaccinate all Vietnamese people, especially poor workers, against Covid-19.
