The working pace of workers at Precious Garments Vietnam Company (Thu Dau Mot City) in last days of the year was hurriedly. The whole company has about 900 workers. Ngô Hữu Trí, Chairman of the company's Trade Union, said: “At the end of the year, the pace of production lines increases 2 to 3 times compared to weekdays to finish orders timely. This working spirit shows the responsibility and consciousness of workers towards the goal of productivity, quality, striving to complete the annual production targets”. According to HR department of Precious Garments, currently the accumulated orders are urgently being executed to meet the delivery schedule. Reportedly, 90% workers of the company are female workers, at the end of the year, the company Trade Union is checking the family circumstance of some female workers to timely support them. Therefore, the spirit of workers is motivated, heightened, and make long-term commitment to the company.
Tet holiday is coming, the working spirit of workers has been more urgent than ever to keep up the production progress. Trương Thị Bích Hạnh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Confederation, said: “The end of the year is the time when employees work with high intensity, keeping up with the schedules. Therefore, right from first months of the year, provincial Labor Confederation directed all trade union levels to collaborate with the authorities and the company management to launch an emulation movement to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks in 2019. The movement was carried out in many forms. The movement encouraged trade union members and workers to promote initiatives, improve techniques, apply new science and technology into production, practice thrift, reduce costs and raw material consumption, improve productivity and product quality to participate in regional and international integration”.
To encourage technical innovation initiatives
At the end of the year, the labor emulation movement, promotion of initiatives and technical improvements were actively done by workers. With the motto of "High consensus, good working, early finish", many workers not only fulfilled their assigned workload but also made technical innovations and improvements. Especially, the initiatives of workers have been applied into production by companies.
Many examples have appeared from this emulation movement. Trương Thành Dũng, a worker at Rochdale Spears Company, is a good example. His initiative improves MDF frames on products with weak structures to avoid damage during transportation. Then Mr. Dũng continued to propose a method to cut down some unnecessary packaging materials while maintaining the quality and safety of products. With these initiatives, Mr. Dũng has helped his company save a few hundred million VND every year.
Or Nguyễn Văn An, a worker of Vietnam TNT Fibers Company, has a successful research and invention of Hank thread press machine. His research increases productivity by 5 times. To uphold the spirit of good labor and creative labor, patriotic emulation movement among workers has been widely implemented. These movements provide motivation for further improvement of labor productivity as well as employee benefits in companies and enterprises", Ms. Hạnh added.
