From December 27, districts, towns and cities in the province simultaneously administered third Covid-19 vaccine shots to their residents. In addition to organizing fixed injection points, the province also set up mobile vaccination teams to give injections to the elderly who cannot go to injection sites.
Simultaneously injecting 3rd Covid-19 vaccina jabs
On December 27, a large number of people in Phu Cuong ward came to the injection point of Bach Dang Trade Center in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Cuong ward to get the 3rd Covid-19 vaccine shots from early in the morning. The injection area was scientifically arranged with 3 injection tables, injection speed of about 2,000 injections/day/injection table and safety in each injection always ensured.
TDM city’s health workers offer the 3rd shot of Covid-19 vaccine to the elderly at home
It is known that Thu Dau Mot city has organized this round of 3rd and 2nd Covid-19 shot vaccination within 3 days from December 27 to 29 with 14 injection sites and 42 vaccination tables. Nguyen Thi Hoa, living in Phu Cuong ward, who has completed the 3rd injection, excitedly said: "I am very happy and more secure in the current pandemic situation, especially with the development of Omicron variant that is likely to enter our country".
Meanwhile, fixed injection points in Tan Uyen town have also injected 1st, 2nd and 3rd shots of Covid-19 vaccine for people aged 18 and above. Source from provincial Department of Foreign Affairs said that from December 28 to 31, Becamex International Hospital and My Phuoc General Hospital will administer 3rd Covid-19 shots to experts and foreigners living and working in the province. The priority will be given for patients with moderate to severe immunodeficiency and those who have received the full two doses of Sinopharm vaccine, or Sputnik V vaccine. The interval is from 28 days to 3 months. People who have been infected with Covid-19 are injected immediately after recovering and completing medical isolation as prescribed…
Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health said: "Currently, Binh Duong is strongly directing localities to organize the 3rd dose vaccination against Covid-19 for citizens. The goal of the province is to strive for completion of the 3rd injection for all people by the end of January 2022…”.
To accomplish the above goal, Dr. Hong Chuong added that provincial Department of Health has directed 91 health stations in communes, wards and townships to establish fixed injection points. The health centers of districts, towns and cities must be open for vaccination every day of the week. In addition, each locality needs to set up at least 1 to 2 mobile vaccination trucks to give vaccinations at home to the elderly and sick people who cannot go to vaccination sites.
“The health sector calls on all people to be proactive to get injections and mobilize others to get vaccinated against Covid-19 for their own health, the community and the fight against the pandemic. For employees who cannot get injections during office hours, province-based Industrial Parks’ Management Board, Department of Industry and Trade, Labor Union and districts, towns and cities will organize injections at factories and at night when workers are off shift. For people from other localities returning to Binh Duong to live and work, they need to urgently go to Becamex International General Hospital and My Phuoc General Hospital to receive vaccines against Covid-19."
Giving injections to the elderly at home
With the spirit of not leaving anyone behind, Thu Dau Mot city’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control together with doctors and healthy workers of the city’s Health Center have deployed mobile vaccination at home for the elderly who cannot go to injection sites.
On the first day of this vaccination round, the team injected tens of elderly and sick people at home. From early in the morning, the team prepared necessary tools, went to each alley in Phu Cuong ward to vaccinate the elderly. Before vaccination, they were examined about their health status and advised on vaccination against the pandemic. They were also instructed how to monitor their health after the injection. Nguyen Thi My Hang, living in quarter 2’s group 5 in Phu Cuong ward, whose mother is suffering from a stroke accident and cannot get to the injection site, was touched when her mother was got vaccinated against Covid-19 at home. She was very excited and secure, believing in the local measures to repel the pandemic.
Tran Si Nam, Vice-Chairman of Thu Dau Mot city’s People's Committee said that Thu Dau Mot city has completed the first injection for 100% of people, about 95% of the people have injected the 2nd injection. The city has also completed the full two injections for children aged 12-17. For elderly and sick people who cannot go to injection sites, the city has made a specific list of each ward, directed ward-level medical staff to give injections at home to these people. With this activity, the city's Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control hopes to achieve the goal of vaccination against Covid-19 for all people, contributing to controlling and repelling the pandemic.
