At the present, women also have to go to work, help men in family economy, thus men have to aid women in cooking and parenting. “To have a happy family, sympathy between husband and wife is needed. There will be no warm family meal, if wife prepares hurriedly for the meal while husband is watching TV. Therefore, wives have to be capable, husbands have to help women in family things”, said Ms. Phan Thi Tai Loi from Thuan Giao ward of Thuan An town.According to Ms. Doan Thi Dieu Hien, Chairwoman of provincial Women Union, after the contest, couples perceived family’s value, learned how to share common family thing to bring up well their children.Improve parenting knowledge for familiesPropaganda, education have been furthered to fulfill Project 704. A survey of reality and parenting needs of parents having children of 16 years old and under at An Binh and Phuoc Sang commune of Phu Giao district. The Union examined knowledge, attitudes, behaviors of 1,700 parents having children under 16 years old; conducted in-depth interviews with 11 persons, discusses in 4 groups at these two communes to evaluate reality of parenting, knowledge, attitudes, determinants and needs, demands for parenting; nutritional status of children under 3 years old; gave nutrition advices to parents having malnourished children under 3 years old.At these two communes, two training classes were opened to provide propagandists with knowledge and skills of reproductive health, adolescent sex education; parents’ role in growing, educating children, forming personality at children so that children can grow up comprehensively. After the training, learners can propagate and organize propaganda activities of parenting at localities.Ms. Hien said, after one year of implementation, families, especially ones at the two communes, have has a positive transition in parenting, constructing happy family.
