Provincial People’s Committee has just issued Decision No. 3070/QD-UBND to approve Imbalanced Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) Intervention Project to comprehensively intervene sex imbalance in period from 2011 to 2015 of Binh Duong Province.
The project aims at:
- Stage by stage manipulation of increasing imbalanced sex ratio to stabilize and balance sex ratio at birth;
- Offering information about gender and imbalanced sex at birth;
- Implementing and refining legal system regarding contents of SRB;
- Encouraging and supporting women and girls in education and productivity healthcare;
Provincial People’s Committee assigns departments and sectors to consult with establishment of a managing board with operating charter. Meanwhile, Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning will be a leading helping unit for Department of Health to implement the project. Department of Finance as well as Department of Planning and Investment will be assigned to plan for local yearly budget reserved for necessary operation of managing units.
Besides, depending on level of involvement and assignment, other departments, offices, and units at district levels will be coordinated to carry out the project in line with the aimes and contents as mentioned.
