As part of the core tasks outlined in the provincial traffic order and safety plan, provincial Traffic Safety Committee has directed provincial Department of Construction to strengthen its management of planning, investment, construction, usage operation, exploitation, maintenance and protection of traffic infrastructure. This includes overseeing traffic operations, driver training and vehicle inspection. Notably, the plan places emphasis on advancing smart traffic systems and promoting research and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in traffic regulation.
In addition, efforts must continue intensifying inspection and enforcement actions to strictly address violations of urban order, including illegal encroachment on roadsides and pavements and unauthorized parking that causes traffic congestion. Authorities are also tasked with working together to resolve persistent road flooding, due to rainfall, which disrupts transportation and travel for residents.
Along with the above mentioned tasks, provincial Traffic Safety Committee has instructed provincial Department of Construction to closely coordinate with relevant sectors and localities to proactively inspect, identify and resolve areas with frequent traffic accidents, potential road hazards and factors that compromise traffic safety on roads under decentralized management.
