Instances of illness, workplace accidents, and severe health conditions in the region consistently receive prompt assistance from various levels, sectors, organizations, and local authorities. The provincial Trade Union alone allocates hundreds of billions of VND annually to support disadvantaged workers through numerous practical initiatives.

Love endures
Recently, an accident at Minh An Vina Company Limited, situated in KSB Dat Cuoc Industrial Park in Bac Tan Uyen District, resulted in the tragic loss of three lives during factory renovations. In response, authorities at all levels within the province promptly prioritized the management of the incident with a strong sense of responsibility.
According to the reporter, only a few hours after the incident, a provincial leadership delegation headed by Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from various departments and branches, visited the accident site to urgently oversee the response efforts, investigate, and clarify the cause for regulatory action. The delegation also proceeded to the Bac Tan Uyen District Medical Center to offer condolences, support, and initial assistance to the families of the victims.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Bui Minh Tri graciously visited each family, offering encouragement to help them navigate their grief and loss. He also instructed local authorities to arrange transportation for the victims to return to their hometowns for burial, following the completion of necessary procedures. "Facilitating visits, providing encouragement, and supporting families in overcoming their grief is the responsibility of the local community," stated Mr. Bui Minh Tri.
To assist and support the families of the deceased victims, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Labor Federation, the Binh Duong Industrial Park Management Board, the local government of Bac Tan Uyen district, along with various organizations and enterprises, promptly allocated initial aid of VND95 million to each family. They arranged transportation to return the victims to their homes for burial on the afternoon of April 17.
Numerous practical activities
In alignment with the province's directive of "no one is left behind," the Provincial Federation of Labor, in collaboration with various agencies, organizations, and local authorities, undertakes annual initiatives to support workers facing challenging circumstances. These efforts encompass a comprehensive review to facilitate employment, secure income sources, and uphold social security. Additionally, vocational training is provided for new workers arriving in Binh Duong, along with opportunities for them to access and purchase tens of thousands of social housing units, thereby stabilizing their living conditions.
Through grassroots union initiatives, efforts are made to assess and understand the number of union members and workers facing challenging circumstances in order to provide timely assistance. Consequently, "zero-dong" market programs in various localities and enterprises are consistently launched. "Zero-dong" breakfast and meal shops have been established in numerous locations, and the program offering rent exemptions and reductions for workers has been sustained since the pandemic, bringing comfort to those in need.
Mrs. Ong Thuy Hoang Mai, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation, stated: “With the union budget, support from the Provincial People's Committee, enterprises, and socialized resources, the Provincial Labor Union annually allocates hundreds of billions of VND to support workers. Notably, during each Tet holiday or Workers' Month, workers in the province receive gifts, train and bus tickets for their journeys home for Tet, and have the opportunity to partake in the warm Union meal and year-end banquet. Unions at all levels also organize competitions, performances, and sports events to create recreational spaces, fostering joy for workers after their demanding hours.”
Overall, the lives of workers continue to encounter numerous challenges. Nevertheless, with the dedication of the provincial Trade Union and the prompt guidance and support from provincial leaders, workers have progressively surmounted these obstacles and advanced, remaining steadfast in Binh Duong.
In recent times, the Provincial Fund for Supporting Workers in Difficult Circumstances has provided assistance to thousands of workers who have suffered accidents, experienced illness, or found themselves in particularly challenging situations, offering support ranging from 4 to 10 million VND per case. Additionally, the fund extends its aid to underprivileged students and children from families affected by COVID-19. |
