Cleaner production applied, but still limited
As of late 2011, Binh Duong absorbed 13,162 domestic businesses and 2,054 FDI ones. The development of industrial manufacture has contributed to creating jobs, promoting industrial parks and economic growth of the province under the industrialization and modernization trend.

Binh Duong has also reaped positive changes in the application of cleaner production at industrial production establishments. Some enterprises have been aware of the benefits from cleaner production and step by step innovated technologies, contributing to raising their production efficiency and minimize environmental pollution.
But now, cleaner production application is still limited. Some enterprises have implemented cleaner production, but not synchronous. As surveyed, cleaner production application at some enterprises has a great potential and it can help them save 25% of energy in the production process…
50% of industrial production establishments to apply cleaner production
In order to help the province’s industrial production get access to cleaner production, enterprises need to ensure environmental protection and logically use natural resources; boost industrialization and modernization in a sustainable way; strength competition and effectively use all forces in industrial development and ceaselessly reduce negative impacts on the environment; connect cleaner production with the environmental management system under ISO 14.000 standard and other advanced quality management systems to improve their production efficiency, actively contributing to environmental protection…
By 2015, the province will strive to have 50% of industrial production establishments being aware of the benefits from cleaner production; 25% industrial production establishments with potential for this application that will save 5%-8% of energy and materials; 25% with technical workers who are also involved in cleaner production.
To achieve the above targets, provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem has asked for authorities and enterprises to speed up dissemination of information on cleaner production; make projects on the management, guidance and support of technology improvement; replicate the models of cleaner production application; attach special importance to developing personnel who are in charge of this task…
