Province further tightens social distancing in "red zones"

Facing the situation of the high number of F0 cases in the "red zones", especially in the two "dense red zones" Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town, provincial Party Standing Committee has instructed provincial People’s Committee to have a plan to tighten social distancing in the two localities until the end of September 15 under the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16. Accordingly, localities need to set up plans deploying forces to conduct a tight blockade both inside and outside in the spirit of "not exiting from the inside, not entering from the outside" ...

Absolute social distancing in the "red zone"

According to the direction of provincial Party Standing Committee, the most important goal of the province is to soon control the pandemic in order to bring life and production-business activities back to the "new normal" state. To achieve this goal, the "red zone" localities need to strictly implement social distancing in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister at the Directive No.16 and Telegram No. 1063. The province has also called for all people and workers to comply with regulations on social distancing in the spirit of "state where one is" so that the local functional forces can conveniently deploy professional measures in Covid-19 prevention and control.

The local functional forces check travel permits of vehicles and people from Ho Chi Minh city to Thuan An city at a checkpoint on Phu Long bridge

In order to ensure that people comply with regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control, the "red zone" localities need to strengthen patrols along roads and residential areas while promoting the effective operation of checkpoints. In case of necessity, they need to be proactive to  establish, supplement forces and put additional checkpoints into operation to minimize the movement of people between diffirent areas.

Provincial Party Standing Committee has also directed provincial Police Agency and Military Command to coordinate forces from the "green zone" localities such as Dau Tieng, Phu Giao, Dau Tieng, NorthTan Uyen... to strengthen support for the "red zone" localities. With this additional force, the “red zone” localities need to well organize social distrancing in the spirit of isolation from household to household, quarter to quarter, ward to ward...

Taking good care of people

In order to support people and workers in the "red zone" localities to further implement social distancing, provincial Party Standing Committee has directed provincial Fatherland Front Committee and functional agencies to urgently set up plans to mobilize units and individuals to support resources for those in pandemic-hit areas, especially workers in Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town. These localities need to recheck the list of  people and workers with difficulities in the spirit of "go to every alley, knock from door to door, check every person"  to ensure that all the disadvantaged people are supported.

Speaking at a recent meeting with Thuan An city’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Pernament Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee asked for the city to urgently recheck the list of people and workers affected by the pandemic for timely support.

According to Thuan An city’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the city has urgently, synchronously and drastically implemented measures against the pandemic while actively directing departments, sectors and localities to recheck the list of  those facing difficulties, due to the pandemic for timely support. With the establishment and effective operation of hundreds of fixed checkpoints and mobile patrol teams, so far, the city has controlled social distancing basically.

The city is also continuing narrowing the local Covid-19 screening areas to separate F0 cases from the community..., thereby establishing the “green” zone. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of the city’s People's Committee said that after cleaning residential areas and lodging facilities to set up the “green” zone, the city will prioritize vaccination for people, workers and lock down areas for protection.

Duong Chi Nam, Deputy Head of the Department of Health Environmental Management under the Ministry of Health said that for localities that are under curfew, people in other localities are not allowed to exchange. Therefore, the province needs to tighten control of travel permits in Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town; locked down the “red” outbreaks in the spirit of  “not exiting from the inside, not entering from the outside"; supply  people in the “red” outbreaks with essential goods...
