Province gets ready for acting fast to prevent nCoV

Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee made the statement at an online conference against acute pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV) in the province yesterday afternoon, February 4.

No cases of nCoV infection have been reported in the province as of now. But, the province has absorbed a large number of Chinese laborers, so the risk of infection for the disease is very high. Leaders of all districts, towns and city of the province also revealed measures to fight the deadly disease at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Mr.Hung affirmed that the pneumonia disease caused by nCoV has been complicated in China and some other countries, including Vietnam. Sectors, authorities at all levels of the province and people need to join hands in combatting the infectious disease…

*On the afternoon of February 4, provincial Department of Industry and Trade discussed a plan on stabilizing essential commodities amid the spread of nCoV, in attendance of representatives of localities and big supermarkets in the province.

At the meeting, representatives of province-based supermarkets revealed their plans on stockpiling essential commodities in the coming time. Most goods suppliers have resumed operation and ensured supply of essential commodities at people’s demand. Representatives of the Divisions of Economics said that they will work with the management boards of markets in order to set up plans on stockpiling commodities at people’s demand.

Leader of provincial Department of Industry and Trade asked for supermarkets to quickly sign contacts with suppliers, monitor over the market and set up long-term plans stockpiling essential commodities…

*The same day, provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention held a training course for members of rapid response teams against nCoV.

At the training courses, they were guided how to contain the deadly nCoV epidemic. It is known that they are responsible for responding quickly to any outbreaks, providing professional aid for hospitals, and controlling the acute respiratory disease. They will also inspect the prevention and control of nCoV, focusing on areas at high risk…

*Early February 4, Di An town’s Youth Union launched propaganda activities against the acute pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus.

Accordingly, the local Youth Union members offered over 20,000 medical masks and delivered nearly 1,000 propaganda leaflets against the deadly nCoV epidemic disease to locals.

*Early February 4, Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee held a conference to implement a plan against the acute pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus.

At the conference, Doan Van Dong, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee required agencies, sectors, mass organizations, the People’s Committees of communes, townships to coordinate with health centers and stations to prepare sufficient facilities and medical materials to serve patients; regularly update information about the deadly epidemic disease; tighten control over foreign laborers; propagandize and mobilize people to avoid traveling to crowded areas to a minimum, be proactive to prevent the deadly epidemic disease.
