Province marks VWU’s 84th anniversary, Vietnamese Women’s Day’s 4th anniversary

Early October 17, provincial Women’s Union held a get-together to mark the 84th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) (October 20, 1930-October 20, 2014) and the 4th anniversary of the Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20, 2010-October 20, 2014). Attending the event were Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Public Relations Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

At the get-together, cadres of provincial Women’s Unions over periods had a chance to review the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women over the past 84 years. Upholding this tradition, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have actively studied, creatively worked and reaped important results in all aspects. They over the past 9 months helped nearly 9,000 women get nearly VND60bln in loan for economic development. They also reached encouraging results in the implementation of the Project “Propaganda and education of Vietnamese women’s virtue in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization”, contributing to improving the image of Vietnamese women in the new period with “Confidence, self-esteem, generosity and responsibility”.

On this occasion, provincial Women’s Union congratulated 18 members aged 81 and above of provincial Retired Officials’ Club on their longevity. The get-together also organized a talk show on “Women with implementation of Uncle Ho’s testament” with Trieu Vu, a high-ranking lecturer of the National Political-Administrative Academy.

Addressing the get-together, Mr.Liem asked for provincial Women’s Unions at all levels to further uphold the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women; mobilize members to actively study, creatively work and build up “well-off, equal, advanced and happy” families; replicate advanced role-models in all aspects while actively helping poor members rise up in life…

*The same day, Tan Uyen town’s Women’s Union held a get-together to celebrate the 84^th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930-October 20, 2014) and the 4^th anniversary of the Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20, 2010-October 20, 2014).

Over the past time, members of the town’s Women’s Union carried out 12 works of “Women take part in protecting the green-clean and beautiful environment” and 2 works of “Women join hands with people to upgrade rural traffic roads”. The town’s Women’s Union also monthly provided 31 poor children with 10 kg of rice each; awarded scholarships and 774 gifts to other poor pupils.

In addition, the town’s Women’s Unions at all levels promoted the model of “Women in Tan Uyen get involved in thrift practice in accordance with Uncle Ho’s teachings” with more than VND400mln in loan mobilized for members to develop home based business. They also mobilized members to apply sci-tech advancements in cultivation and animal husbandry…

At the get-together, the town’s Women’s Union also congratulated former cadres aged 70 and 75 on their longevity; presented 44 gifts to cadres over periods; mobilized Lan Anh One-Member Co.Ltd. to award 24 scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils…
