Provincial People’s Committee has just issued a document asking provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and Binh Duong Water Supply-Drainage and Environment One-Member Co. to take urgent measures to redress water scarcity for the local people’s production and daily live in late 2009 and early 2010.
Particularly, they need to check and tighten control over the current water sources; take initiative in repairing breakdowns at water pumping stations and irrigation works, dredging and clearing inter-field canals. They have been also required to cooperate with Dau Tieng Reservoir Irrigation Exploitation One-Member Co. to outline a suitable water discharge plan to ensure water sources for the local people’s production and daily life; guide the local people to save water and take initiative in the crop restructuring in areas where frequently suffer from droughts.
