In a bid to prevent the recurrence of bird flu, provincial Animal Health Department has tightened control over the transport of poultry and poultry products to the province from other localities; asked for concentrated breeding facilities to strengthen detoxification; registered to buy bird flu vaccine and implement vaccination of poultry across the province.
The local sector is also carrying out checks of the small-scaled breeding facilities and is preparing to execute the first stage of bird flu vaccination in early April. The whole province now has about 3 million poultry heads. It is known that small traders at province-based markets have not been allowed to buy and sell alive poultry.
