Province supports over 8,300 tons of rice for 11 "locked, frozen" wards

On August 22, provincial People's Committee made a decision on the allocation of rice from the national reserve to support people facing difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The amount of rice received in the first phase of more than 8,300 tons from the General Department of State Reserves is prioritized by the province to support 7.5kg of rice/person for people living in Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town’s 11 wards implementing the “locked, frozen” policy in accordance with provincial Party Standing Committee’s Notice No.179/TB/TU dated August 20, 2021. In addition, the province will support 15kg of rice/person for poor households, near-poor households and people receiving monthly social allowances; support 7.5kg of rice/person for needy people in Thuan An city, Tan Uyen town, Thu Dau Mot city, Di An city, Ben Cat town.

Provincial Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs has been ordered to coordinate with the State Reserve Department in the Southeast region to receive and distribute rice to localities, promptly set up plans and guide localities to implement this policy, ensuring efficiency and right subjects. The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities will arrange specific receiving locations and mobilize forces to carry out reception work; prepare vehicles to transport rice to communes, wards and townships for timely distribution to the above targeted groups.

Besides, provincial People's Committee has just issued the Decision No. 13/2001 on food and foodstuff support for people in 11 wards of Tan Uyen town and Thuan An city. Accordingly, the support level is 50,000 VND/person/day by food and foodstuff  form. The application period is 15 days, starting from August 22. Provincial People's Committee has assigned Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town to coordinate with provincial Military Command, relevant sectors and agencies to urgently provide goods for people at their demand for daily necessities.
